Look at the Word, not the World

Psalm 30:11-12 (NASB)
11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,
12 That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

“If I look at the world, I will conform to the ways of the world. If I look at the Word, I will conform to the will of God.” – A. W. Tozer

On any given day, the news would have you believe that everything is falling apart and there is no hope. Tragedy, if it hasn’t already happened is just around the corner. Everything is looked at as if it is a glass half-full and leaking in several places.

But His Word tells us that our glass is overflowing. He provides to all people His common grace. To those that are His, He also provides a special grace. This world is not perfect, but we have so much hope in what is planned for His children. For we will be with Him in glory one day.

If you listen to the world, you would wonder why anyone would give thanks. If you listen to His Word, you will wonder how anyone would not shout with joy in thanksgiving to our Lord and Savior.

That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever. Amen.

Always praying for the glory of God,
