1Peter 1:6-7 (NASB)
6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,
7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
We are living proof,
Of a Loving God,
To a Watching World.
Trials are sometimes periods of sorrow and grief. They can also be times that punctuate the presence of our Savior giving us great joy. For those outside of the Kingdom of God, there is no reason to rejoice. There is no reason to look forward. There is nothing except the present situation.
As Christians our trials can be used to show the watching world that there is reason for hope. I recently heard the statement above from a person in response to a tragedy that impacted everyone in our country. They reminded me that we can stand apart from the watching world and show them that there is a better way, there is hope, and there is salvation.
Are you living proof, of a Loving God, to a watching world?
Heavenly Father, I pray that the Holy Spirit would constantly remind me of the joy that I have in Jesus. May it shine through even during times of trial, so that others will marvel at Your great love for us. Amen.
Always praying for the glory of God,
